Dr. Colm is the former Clinical Director of the Cork Marriage Counselling Center; the founder of the Cork Domestic Violence Project 1992; Co-founder of the Irish Association for Agency-based Counselling 2009; and was appointed by successive ministers to the Board of the Family Support Agency in Ireland.

Dr. Colm has written three books published by Gill & McMillan on couples relationships, happiness, and imagination entitled The Courage to Love; The Courage to Be Happy; and The Awakening. He has published research and journal articles on Marital Breakdown and Domestic Abuse, and has had hundreds of newspaper articles printed on family psychology.
