COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY:
I provide counselling and psychotherapy for adults, couples, families, and children. I have been in practice as a clinical psychologist and family therapist since 1990 specialising in family, child, couples and individual psychotherapy and assessments..
I am a registered clinical psychologist with the Psychological Association of Ireland and a registered Family Therapist with the Family Therapy Association of Ireland. I am also a registered psychotherapist with the European Association of Psychotherapy.
Couples Counselling & Marital Therapy:
I have a clinical specialization and expertise in working with couples having been a clinical director, supervisor, trainer, and writer in this area.
Child Counselling & Psychotherapy:
I have worked with children and families for most of my working career beginning in Chicago in the mid-eighties as a school counsellor through to the present where complete assessments and therapy with children dealing with marital and family breakdown.
I have extensive experience working with families dealing with issues related to parenting, child psychology, family breakdown, domestic abuse and control, etc.
Psychological Assessments & Section 47 Court Reports:
I complete Family Assessments, Parenting Plans, and Recommendations for families going through the courts dealing with divorce and separation.
Domestic Violence & Abuse:
I was founder of the Cork Domestic Violence Project in 1992 and set up the first treatment programme for violent men in Ireland which ran for many years. I also worked for many years with adult sex offenders and pedophiles, completed my training at the Gracewll Institute in Birmingham in 1994, a co-faciliated a treatment group for offenders for about 6 years.
Professional Training and Clinical Supervision:
I have worked as a Clinical Director and supervisor of psychotherpaits for the past 20 years and am a registered supervisor with the FTAI. I have facilitated professional and public seminars and workshops throughout my working career.
